True to the time-honored rule of gestalt, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Therefore it is important to put the time and care into every detail, making the final product have that much more impact.  Take eggs for example- I hate eggs- but add some cheese, fresh veggies or meat product, and you have your self a tasty omelette!
